Krusa Land Design Studio is an ecologically driven landscape architecture and regenerative land planning design company based out of Maui. Foundational to Krusa Land Design is the guiding principal that a healthy, harmonious relationship with nature begins at home and with local connections. Whether it be simple enhancements towards creating a more welcoming entry patio with elegant ornamentals and/or herbal and edible potted plants, or deeper landscape acupuncture to realign your home spaces towards creating more therapeutic spaces aimed at centering and grounding, contemplation, and meditation, Krusa Land Design Studio has successfully designed, installed and maintained it. With years of hands on experience in native and near native ornamental gardens, edible garden and farm production design-management, certification as a waterwise irrigation systems professional through the EPA ‘s QWEL program, backyard to park scale stormwater management via active (cistern type) and passive (onsite infiltration through dry wells, infiltration basins/trenches or rain gardens), Krusa Land Design has the expertise and passion to help you reach your property’s full potential!

Founder, Lee Krusa's dedication for regenerative landscape design has been shaped by immersive travel driven by a lifelong passion for experiencing nature through the lens of the cultures that evolved with a wonder and reverence for the diverse abundance found in their natural world. Indeed, it was through travel that he developed a keen awareness of the intrinsic interrelationship among a locale's landscape ecology, geography/resources, and the human settlement patterns, rituals and ultimately their cultural development. It was also in travel that he experienced firsthand patterns of decline and insecurity in ecologic and socioeconomic integrity of many of the communities he visited. It is in celebration of the abundance of nature and in utilizing a measured and dedicated approach to making responsible landscape ecology interventions towards lightening our collective ecological footprint that Lee dedicates his life’s work. Resilience, balance, integrity, integration, and regeneration are all attributes Lee works carefully to achieve in the landscapes he designs and helps bring to literal fruition.
With over 20 years of professional landscape experience, education, and dedicated service to the craft of landscape design, land stewardship/maintenance, and community scale agriculture, he has shown a true commitment to making the world a better and healthier place wherever his work has taken him.
Lee holds a Hawaii State License in Landscape Architecture, received his Master's of Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Agro-Ecology from the University of Wyoming/ University of Hawaii, and is an EPA certified Qualified Water Efficient Landscape Professional (QWEL).
